Marc Hofer is a freelance photojournalist currently based in Kampala, Uganda. He focuses on photographing conflict-affected populations and areas in eastern Africa.

He has a degree in Arts and Design from the University of Applied Science, Vorarlberg, Austria.

He has lived and worked in Namibia, South Africa and Uganda and worked in DRC, Rwanda, Tanzania and Sudan.

His work in Germany included being a photographic assistant at Tom Roch Photography and a newsroom intern at Seuddedeutsche.de.

He has been published in TAZ, Monocle Magazine, Christian Science Monitor, BBC Focus on Africa, Sueddeutsche.de, IS Magazine, The New York Times and he is a regular Stringer for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA).
